An important part of our work is carried out through statutory committees that help us fulfill our mandate to protect the public. NSNMR currently has six statutory committees.
These committees operate at arm’s length from our daily activities and are made up of registrant volunteers and members of the public. Together, committee members are tasked to make fair and objective decisions related to registration, licensing, professional practice, and conduct for nurses and midwives in Nova Scotia.
