A change in client population is when an NP wishes to move from a client population for which they have completed formal education and the applicable registration exam, into a client population in which they have not completed relevant education and the applicable registration exam.
The NSNMR By-Laws, require the NSNMR CEO & Registrar to determine when an NP who is seeking to practise with a different population must report their intention to practice with that different client population. The NSNMR CEO & Registrar has determined NPs must report their intention to practice with a different population in the following situations:
- Family/All Ages (FAA) moving to Neonatal
- Adult, Pediatrics or Neonatal moving to a different client population
NPs educated in FAA are not required to report if they are moving to Adult or Pediatric Populations.
NSNMR will review the report and may require the NP to successfully complete any necessary competence assessment and bridging education before deciding whether to approve the change in population. NPs may not practice with the new population until they have been approved.
If you wish to request a change in client population as an NP, please complete the form below and upload a current resume.
