As part of the amalgamation of the legacy nursing and midwifery regulators in Nova Scotia, we are currently working to define our combined purpose, vision and values. Interim Purpose
To regulate the nursing and midwifery professions to:
- Protect the public from harm;
- Serve and promote the public interest;
- Preserve the integrity of the professions, subject to the public interest;
- Maintain public confidence in the ability of the regulatory body to regulate the professions.
Interim Mission
- We register and license those qualified to practice nursing and midwifery.
- We ensure nurses and midwives meet expected standards of learning, competence, health, and conduct.
- We intervene to preserve safe practice.
