One of the requirements for registration and licensure is to pass our Board-approved exams based on the designation to which you are applying.
For LPN registration, you must pass the following entry-to-practice exams:
For RN registration, you must pass the following entry-to-practice exams:
- NCLEX-RN Exam (unless you have previously passed an exam accepted by NSNMR)
For NP registration, you must pass the following entry-to-practice exams:
- Applicable NP Exam based on the stream of practice you are seeking (family/all ages, adult, pediatric, neonatal)
Jurisprudence Requirements
As of March 25, 2026, all new applicants and registrants returning from leave are required to review the Jurisprudence Resource Guide and complete the online Jurisprudence Declaration of Completion confirming they have reviewed the document. There is no fee associated with this requirement.
Waiver of Jurisprudence Examination Registration Requirement:
- Effective March 29, 2023, consistent with the objects of NSNMR, the CEO waived the successful completion of the jurisprudence examination as a registration requirement.
- The jurisprudence examination is on hold pending evaluation of its use as a registration requirement.
